There is nothing more FAB than Sunday brunch. And for mrsFAB, a FABulous brunch ‘must have’ is the “Mimosa”. Try this at home. Yes, surprise your man, or just treat yourself, to your FABfave breakfast and wash is all down with this:
***Sunday Brunch Mimosa***
1/2 cup pink sanding sugar
1 (750-ml) bottle brut Champagne
4 tablespoons pineapple juice
4 tablespoons blood orange juice
2 tablespoons orange liqueur (recommended: Grand Marnier)
Dip the rims of the champagne flutes in water. Dip again in the sanding sugar.
Divide Champagne between 2 glasses. Add half of both juices to each glass and top with orange liqueur.
mrsFAB’s tips for a Mimosa filled Sunday Brunch:
* If you have kids, let them stay at grandma’s for the weekend.
*Go to Wednesday night prayer service. mamaFAB always told me that a way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. So after that good food Sunday morning, and a FAB breakfast cocktail, your ‘mrFAB’ will have other things on his mind besides Sunday service.
*If you can not cook, buy some pre-cooked bacon, a pre-sliced fruit tray, and a spinach quiche from the deli section at your local grocer. PLEASE put the items on nice serving platters so that they don’t look store bought!
Now, I have given you the tools for an elegant Sunday brunch. AND, by doing it at home, you are saving money. Just another way to show off your ‘domestic FABness’, while being ‘FAB on a budget’. Salude!
